How to import/export Advanced Menu Pre-Made Section Layouts?

Diviflash has included a menu import/export option within the WordPress Dashboard menu settings. This feature allows you to easily import and export the menus from one site to another.

Note: Now, you can download and reuse the premade section layout we designed here.

Here are the step-by-step guidelines for reusing a premade section menu layout.

Step 01: Download the zip file. You will find a download button on each demo we had.

Step 02: Unzip the file. You will find 2 JSON files within the zip file. One file is for Menu Dashboard Settings (DB in File Name), and the other is for the Divi Visual Builder JSON file (VB in File Name).

Step 03: To import the JSON file inside the Menu editor in the WP dashboard, follow these steps:

  • From the WordPress dashboard, navigate to Appearance and click “Menus“.
  • Now, navigate to the “Create a new menu” link and click on it. You can also import it into an existing one.
  • If you are creating a new one. Give your menu a name, Select Display location, and Click “Create Menu“.
  • Inside the menu structure, click the “Menu Exporter & Importer” icon in the top right corner.
  • Clicking on this icon will trigger a popup window.
  • Now, navigate to the import tab inside the popup and choose the downloaded JSON file for Dashboard Settings (DB in File Name).
  • Then click the “Import Now” button.
  • Lastly, Click “Save Menu‘ to save the imported settings.

These steps will successfully import the Dashboard settings within the WordPress site.

Step 04: Now is the time to upload the Divi Visual Builder JSON file. This is a straightforward process. It’s the same process we do with all our free premade JSON files. Here is the video guide we made in general-

In Divi, the WordPress Menu is usually made using the Divi theme builder. Navigate to it and create a global header with our downloaded file.

  • From the WordPress dashboard, navigate to Divi and click “Theme Builder“.
  • Then click “Add Global Header” to bring two new options.
  • Now, from there, click “Build Global Header“.
  • Next, click the plus the blue icon to add a new section.
  • From the Insert section popup, select “Add From Library“.
  • This will show all the items from the library. Click the portability icon in the top right corner to upload a new file.
  • In this new popup, choose the Divi Visual Builder JSON file (VB in File Name).
  • Then Click “Import Section“. This will add the file to the Divi library.
  • Now open the uploaded file for a detailed view and then click “Use This Section“.
  • This will insert the design into the visual builder.
  • Now edit it (if required), click Save, exit Visual Builder, and then click Save Changes.

We are done. Now check on the front end; the menu should be live. If you face any issues during this process, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for further assistance.
